Why can't we let youth go along?
By Michael Dalali

Youth are the big part composing the total national population of about 70%. Most of these are the ones shaping the standing nature of our current national economy by their participatory in the whole process of production in various sectors thus formal and informal.

Though most of these youth participate fully in the process of production still they do face a lot of problems due to being so much marginalized as a group to implementers then being the main designers and decision makers. Most of the so termed "aged" people don’t have trust upon them.

Moreover Some youth who look for opportunities to be employed still face the problem of having experience and exposure of working environment of which led them miss the chance of working. But up to when will this persist?
This is much contributed to the nature of curriculum system of the education programs in our country of which allow more students to concentrate much in class than the actual field of which do play vital role of obtaining much experience of working conditions.

With this, some can come up and claim that system do provide the period for field work, My God! It's still a chaos in obtaining the access of getting a place of conduction the field practical of which can add up experience. This is much contributed by various factors such as a mass increase of students in higher learning institutions than the capabilities of accommodating them with services like institutions for doing their field work.

Still the policy makers and city planners are not contributing much to the promotion of youth initiatives by not being good creative enough to accommodate them in giving them conducive room for working place such as small petty traders according to the drastic growth of cities.

Once you pay a visit to some very big cities like London you can be astonished by good planning of the cities of which the youth have already being provided with special room some just simple like containers for conducting their business.

The issue of lacking special organ uniting all the youth will still pop in time after time whether the stakeholders concern don’t like it or not!

A youth cry towards the establishment of National Youth Council in Tanzania hasn’t started recently. It has been now about more than 11 years of such initiatives done by various youth groups especially after the revival of the constitution in the year 1992 and allow the existence of multi-parties in Tanzania after a long period of mono-party politics.

The youth National Council will have a lot of good genuine tasks and role to perform of which will be for the benefits of all youth if at all the system of making it will be independent enough.

Empirically, Up to this time, youth are scattered in various organs and institutions without one mandatory and legal organ for acting in their various issues to venture one united decision upon them and to be vocal enough.

Am so much aware of various youth wings from various political parties, also existence of a lot of youth based and led organization but all in all can't have legitimacy of all Tanzanian youth unless there exist the formation of free, independent National Youth Council organ where by youth can now be more bound together. It's not bad to be bound together especially upon national interest issues.

Every time and then youth are given so sweet words from the state actors about the whole process of formation of the council but contrary to the implementations of which shows very negative altitude towards the existence.

One may ask where is the missing link? What is it not going right? Can the people concern show up and give well detailed explanations upon the so far achievements and their real commitments towards its existence?

Its was a surprise with a real ambitious of joining the East African Federation from youth realizing that most of other member countries in the federation are having very strong and a well organized structures of National Youth Council in their particular countries dealing well with youth matters. And some have exceeded by having periodic elected youth from council representative of youth in the parliament, what a step made!!

Actually, It's my hope that my lovely country Tanzania with the good hearted stakeholders can hear well the voices of youth and act accordingly as soon as possible to implement various youth demands and claims such as the needy of having the independent, free National Youth Council.
